Having accidentally stumbled into a Tai Chi class, it is now one I very much look forward to. Concentration is needed, to remember the sequence of moves, to the extent that no other mundane or worrying thoughts have room to sneak in giving an hour of "peace". Like everyone else, I did not think I would ever remember the moves but feel a sense of achievement in getting as far as I have and I look forward to completing the square form (hopefully!) and to tackling the round. Balance, posture and muscle tone all benefit from the practice and, because of the gentle nature, it is open to everyone regardless of age or fitness. My advice - give it a go.

I wanted to achieve improved posture and flexibility in my joints as well as relaxing my shoulders. I definitely feel looser and more relaxed after Tai Chi (although my co-ordination at the moment leaves a lot to be desired!)

Having become a member of RGU sports and found that they had Tai chi on the class schedule I decided to give it a go. 3 years later I am still learning and improving my posture and core stabilioty due to the balance. The graceful moves relieve the stresses from the day and then I begin to relax throughout. Met some great people of the years. I am now concenrtating on learning the Sabre form which is a real challenege not only to get to grips but to memorise yet more movements.
